Formula FARA is a high-performance open-wheel racing series that provides a competitive platform for drivers to develop their skills and gain exposure in professional motorsports.
Designed to bridge the gap between karting and higher levels of racing, Formula FARA combines affordability and accessibility.
Over the winter, the series worked on developing a safety upgrade called the J-LO Cockpit Protection System, making it the only series using the Ligier JSF4 car with this advanced safety feature.
Additionally, Yacademy designed an aero update that not only enhances the car’s modern look but also improves driver safety, reinforcing Formula FARA’s commitment to innovation and protection.
The series competes on world-famous tracks such as Sebring Raceway, Barber Motorsports Park, NOLA Motorsports Park, Homestead-Miami Speedway, and Atlanta Motorsports Park (AMP).
These circuits are renowned for their technical challenges and rich racing history, having hosted some of the most prestigious events in motorsports. From the high-speed, bumpy straights of Sebring to the elevation changes of Barber and AMP’s tight, technical layout, drivers experience a variety of track characteristics that sharpen their skills and prepare them for higher levels of competition.
Promoted by Yacademy, a premier motorsports development program, Formula FARA benefits from Yacademy’s extensive experience in guiding young drivers toward professional careers.
Yacademy has been running the Yacademy Winter Series for over six years, serving as a crucial stepping stone for karting drivers making their first test in open-wheel formulas. The program has established itself as one of the most trusted platforms for talent development, consistently attracting top young prospects looking to make the transition into formula racing.
Formula FARA is led by Gustavo Yacamán, a former professional race car driver with extensive experience in top-tier championships and racing organizations such as IndyCar, IMSA, and the FIA World Endurance Series.
Having competed at the highest levels of motorsports, Yacamán brings a unique perspective to Formula FARA, applying the principles and operational excellence he learned from these top series to the structure and organization of this entry-level formula car series.
His approach ensures that young drivers are exposed to a professional racing environment from the start, preparing them for the demands of higher-tier competitions.
This commitment to quality and driver development is why the three racing series he has created—Yacademy Winter Series, Formula FARA, and as a co-founder of USF Juniors—have all been successful.
His experience, both behind the wheel and as a motorsports entrepreneur, makes him the ideal leader to guide aspiring drivers toward success in professional racing.
